Crime branch started questioning Shilpa Shetty about Raj Kundra's Case

A team from Mumbai Police's crime branch reached actor Shilpa Shetty's house in Mumbai on Friday evening to question her and record her statement in regard to the porn movies racket in which her husband Raj Kundra has already been arrested.

Sources say Shilpa Shetty agreed to get her statement recorded and the crime branch has started its questioning.

They added that crime branch wants to know if Shilpa Shetty knew anything about the pornography racket that was allegedly being run by her husband Raj Kundra.

The crime branch also wants to quiz Shilpa Shetty about her tenure as director of Viaan, the company owned by Raj Kundra that is at the centre of this controversy. The alleged porn racket was being operated from the Viaan's office.

Recently, the crime branch had raised Viaan's office in Andheri West in Mumbai and claimed to have seized a "huge data" of porn movies.

The crime branch seized about 20 terabytes (TB) data and seven servers that were used to store it. Sources say around 1 TB data of porn videos was deleted and the crime branch has roped in forensic experts to retrieve it.

NCW to Twitter Remove pornographic content in 7 days or face action

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has sought the removal of all 'pornographic' content from the micro-blogging website Twitter. 

In a press note on Wednesday, the NCW said Twitter has been granted seven days to comply with its directions.

NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma has also written to the Managing Director (MD) of Twitter India in this regard. In her correspondence, Sharma has asked the MD of Twitter India to ensure that all 'pornographic' and 'obscene' content is removed from the platform within a week.

In addition, the NCW chairperson has also written to the Delhi Police Commissioner, urging him to take note of the matter and initiate legal action against the platform.

In her letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner, Rekha Sharma said that similar complaints were brought to the notice of the commission earlier. The NCW had informed Twitter of such objectionable content on its platform but no action was taken, she claimed.

"The Commission is disturbed by the fact that despite knowing of the availability of such banned content which not only violates Indian laws but also Twitter's own policy, no action has been taken till date towards removing them," said the press note issued by NCW.

The film revolves around Taapsee's character Rani who finds herself entangled in her husband's murder. Massey is playing Taapsee's husband Rishabh while Rane will be seen as her lover Neel.

As per the trailer, Rani loves murder mysteries by an author named Dinesh Tripathi. She ties the knot with Rishabh in an arranged marriage setup. However, after the wedding, she realizes that the love and passion are missing aren’t there and she then fell for Neel.

The story takes a tragic turn after Rishabh is killed and Rani is interrogated as his murderer. During interrogation, her secret affair with Neel is revealed. Overall, the film looks thrilling and intriguing.

Aditya Srivastava, best known for playing the role of Abhijeet in Sony TV’s CID, is playing an investigative officer in Haseen Dillruba who is confident that Rani is the murderer.

The film is directed by Hasee Toh Phasee fame Vinil Mathew while Kanika Dhillon has penned the dialogues and screenplay. She is known for her work on various films including Manmarziyaan and Judgementall Hai Kya.

Originally, Haseen Dillruba was slated to release in theatres in September last year, however, got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is now getting a digital release. It is set to stream on Netflix from 2 July.  Filmmaker Aanand L Rai is producing the movie through his banner Colour Yellow Production along with Himanshu Sharma and Eros International.

On the 138th birth commemoration of political dissident Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a biopic has been declared.
