Kabzaa stars Kichcha Sudeep and Upendra in the lead roles. The film seems to have failed to match up with the expectations of the moviegoers
The recent release Kabzaa, starring Kichcha Sudeep, Shriya Saran and Upendra in significant roles, has been struggling to get numbers at the box office. The movie that was mounted on a huge scale has fallen short of expectations. Despite being released in multiple languages and heavily promoted, the film has failed to get footfalls in theatres.
On its ninth day, the film roughly earned 1.75 crore across all languages, as per early estimates. The total for the stands at Rs 32.78 crore, which is far below the film's production budget of Rs 120 crore.
This indicates that the movie is unlikely to make any profit. Given the film’s poor performance at the box office, it seems likely that it will end up being a huge financial loss for its makers. Not just the production budget, however, the poor performance at the domestic ticket counters will also affect its production costs.
For those unaware, Kabzaa is a period action film written and directed by R Chandru. The film stars Upendra, Kichcha Sudeep and Shriya Saran in lead roles along with Shiva Rajkumar in a cameo role, which gave a lead to the second part of the film. Reportedly, the film was made on a budget of Rs 120 crore.
Murali Sharma, Nawab Shah, Kota Srinivasa Rao, John Kokken, Dev Gill, Kabir Duhan Singh and Suneel Puranik are part of the supporting cast. Cinematographer AJ Shetty, editor Mahesh S Reddy and composer Ravi Basrur form the technical crew.
